Digital Zombies
The Summer rush is starting to wind down a little bit. We just got our first two inches of snow and, I can’t wait to get back into Mordheim again.
I just placed another broken electronic item on my Mordheim Desk to be dissected. I now have a pretty large amount of left over electronic pieces but nothing to do with them. I am a big fan of steam-punk, but have as of yet failed to create anything of merit.
Placing the broken roam phone on my Mordheim desk got me thinking about it again. Then it hit me:
Use the Mordheim Undead Warband rules to field an engineer with his army of crappy electronic zombies. They aren’t undead, they are steampunk fighting machines powered by wyrdstone (think medieval robot wars). I haven’t been able to come up with a good name for them yet, but here’s what I have so far:
Terminator (Vampire)
Engineer/Crazy Scientist (Necromancer)
Part collectors (Dregs)
Electronic (crappy) robots (zombies)… I need a good name for these…
Digital Golumns (Ghouls)
Dogs (Dire Wolves)
Feel free to recommend better names. Maybe the Dire Wolves could be “Swords on wheels” lol.

Animosity Counters
I have just under a month left in the 1-inch base competition, and I’ve finally put aside a small amount of time for my entry. (I was extremely busy last month… right guys…?) First, the pictures, then I’ll explain what my entry is for.

Starting Orc & Goblin Mordheim Warband
I got forced into Orcs when I started up Mordheim again because I was the only one with the Mordheim warbands, and I couldn’t just have Skaven Warbands. But boy am I glad I did. I now understand the craze people feel for the greenskins. I’m in the middle of a campaign with a Orc and Goblin Warband, and I’m doing pretty well. I’ve developed/read about/seen a couple different tactics for starting an Orcs and Goblins warband in Mordheim, and I’ll try to share my thoughts on them here:
Orc and Goblin Necessities
No matter what direction I go with a Orc and Goblin Warband, I will always get all four heroes (200gc) as that directly affects my income after every game. Only getting four heroes to start is probably the biggest draw-back for the Orcs and Goblins.
Squigs and Goblins and Orcs, Oh My!
This is the warband I am currently playing with, and is probably the most fun of the Orc and Goblin warbands to start with. Read the Rest of the Post >

Painting Squigs
Now that I’ve removed the paint from my metal Squig yesterday, he needed some new paint today. Since I am going with an orange theme for my Mordheim Orc and Goblin Warband, my cave squigs are going to be orange.
First thing to check is to make sure there are no mold lines still on the model. (I never knew to check for these on metal models, so I started painting my first coat before I realized they were there) I took a razor blade and trimmed them back the best I could.

Ashton Sanders’ Orcs and Goblins
Mordheim Warband
When I first started playing with Orcs and Goblins, my brother put together a ridiculous warband with a bunch of goblin fanatics and a troll, etc. I picked up the rulebook the other day, and put together a couple sample warbands.
To Troll or not to Troll?
This is definitely a difficult question, since Trolls are so bad-ass. Read the Rest of the Post >

Warband Idea - Mario
I saw a model today that had a thick black mustache, and all I could think was “MARIO”!

Skaven Miniature Painted
Here is my third Mordheim model/miniature. Since I’ve already done two Mordheim Orc Miniatures, I decided to do a Skaven miniature. I found a mini that I had glued together seven years ago, and went at it. I gave it a good black base paint. Kind of like the orange theme I gave to my orcs, my Skaven is going to be Blue. I’m getting much better at painting, but I screwed up the Skaven’s hands pretty good. It’ll get better with practice. Anyway, here you go. Let me know what you think:
