Mordheim Campaign 2 - Game 4
(And Ashton’s Favorite Mordheim Pictures!)
Another grueling day in the ruins of Mordheim, has started and the Orc’s and Skaven’s bitter rivalry continues. These two warbands have been searching the ruins almost as much for the rival warband as they were for Wyrdstone. The amount of time since their last encounter has been astoundingly distant. This Skirmish in the ruins of Mordheim has been long overdue.

The first rounds of the Mordheim Skirmish went quickly. The Skaven Sprinted down the South side of the Mordheim Board.

The Orcs tried their best to converged in the middle of the board to attack the Skaven with a united Orc front (which is pretty much impossible…) Crabi the Orc Boss was very proud of the Troll for only forgetting where he was twice during the battle, but Slice the Orc Boy (pictured right) was exceedingly unruly (even for an Orc). Slice spent more than 50% of the game hurling insults at the nearest Orcs warband members. By the end of the game, he was still shouting, but everyone in his warband was out of earshot.

By the time the Orcs reached the Skaven to the south, the rats had set up a ambush and surrounded the Orcs who arrived first. With uncanny accuracy the Skaven sliced down a goblin and squig. The Orcs returned the favor by cutting down two Giant Rats and a Nightrunner.
Even with an extremely successful shooting phase, (knocked down 2 and stunned 1) the Skaven ambush had been too much of a surprise, causing the shaken Orcs to fail their rout test. The Skaven earned a well deserved victory.
(I saved my favorite picture for the very end. )

Enjoy!

Ooooo Greenskins vs Rats always gets my blood pressure up.
Next time the Orcs will dish out more of the Waagh, I’m sure of it.
P.s. I love these battle updates, whatever the time is over there, I always get them in my morning rush of e-mail’s so I have a nice excuse to think out about my little men.
Haha, I’m glad you’re enjoying them. It’s been some very intense battles. The Orcs are at least winning 3-1 right now.
I forgot to mention that I had a Goblin Fanatic with Ball and Chain miss the first hit on a Nightrunner, and then being taken OOA with one blow from the nightrunner… and rolling a 1 after the battle…
Great pictures and great story!

Again, very entertaining! And I see why that pic is a fav. Oh, and regards form Sweden, then, I guess
Thanks for the comments Jon (and Yitu). Thanks for the visit; glad you enjoyed the blog.
Hey Ashton,
I really appreciate what you’re doing. I hope you don’t mind I used your blog as inspiration to make my own Mordheim related blog, I was just in awe on the amount of effort you’ve put in making this blog rock.
I’ll sure to follow your every move when it comes to Mordheim. Keep up the good work, and maybe more people will step up to share the feeling!
Hey, nice work on the site, found it today and love it! im starting a mordheim campaign soon with a couple of people who are new to the game. and after looking at your site again I am inspired to create a blog of our adventures as well! and no doubts there’ll be a link on there leading right here
keep up the good work!
i always find the battle against skaven the most challenging.
their power in numbers is the toughest part.
especially in the early campaign, the skaven numbers grow very quickly.
good luck the next time!
Hi, nice battle. I’m actually getting back into mordheim. Just built a a bunch of buildings and working on a board should be done this week. Hoping to teach everyone how to play next week since im the only one who has play’d. After a few weeks of just playing I’m starting a campaign. going to be (reiklanders “me”, possessed, undead, dwarfs, another mercenary warband and possibly skaven/orcs) should be interesting got a great story for the campaign. If you’d like pics of the building and board let me know i can post them as well as ones of the campiagn when we start.
Heres my list any advice would be great. Went with asmany models as possibly while ok equiped.
Captain – Mace, Brace of pistols
youngblood - X2 daggers
youngblood - X2 daggers
champion - X2 maces
champion - X2 maces
3 marksmen - X3 bows,X3 mace
1 marksmen - Two daggers, bow
3 marksmen - X3 long bows
and either a Halfling scout or work in a pistol for each champion
It looks like a nice, power warband. For the first “learning” campaign, I’d definitely go for a more fluff-based warband with better weapons and fewer people. That way more people will play to enjoy the game as opposed to only win.
My 2 cents.
true but i actually made all of there lists with them so they are made to win as well. and i might just do that. gear up the guys i have. maybe go for ten models instead then.
thanks for the advice
What do you think of my revised list. going more close range fire power and close combat ability
Captain – Mace, dueling pistol
youngblood - X2 daggers
youngblood - X2 daggers
champion - sword, halberd
champion - X2 swords
3 marksmen - X3 pistols,X3 mace
2 marksmen - x2 long bows
1 marksmen - blunderbuss, mace
here are some images i set up of two of the buildings connected by a walk way. humans are being over run by possessed and undead.
